  1. 01Astra for Law264 · 297c

OpenAI's Astra for Law is GPT-6 Astra plus a 230-million-URL US case-law index (CourtListener / Free Law Project) and legal-writing instructions, sold to Harvey, Legora, and a Trusted Access queue of Big Law with zero data retention. On Vals' 200-question research bench it scores 54% versus 38.7% for the same model with web search — still a coin flip, which is why the 297-comment thread is about associate hours, not the eval.

  2. 02Bonsai 2 27B: Near-Lossless Compression in a 9x Smaller Footprintmust160 · 50c

PrismML's Bonsai 2 27B is Qwen3.8 27B smashed to ternary {−1, 0, +1} weights with FP16 group scaling: 1.76 bits per weight, 5.9GB, Apache 2.0, CUDA plus MLX. They claim 98.2% of the full-precision aggregate and 143 tok/s on a 5090 / 46.8 on M5 Max, which is the actual on-device story if the vendor suite isn't lying. Second drop in two months; the pitch is 27B-class agents that fit where an 8B used to.

  3. 03Bend – A language that blocks AI mistakes via proof, on CPU and GPUmust238 · 127c

Victor Taelin (HVM / Kind) shipped Bend 2: Python-ish syntax, compiles to one C file that macros into Metal or CUDA, affine dependent types so the type checker is a Lean-style proof checker, and LAWS.bend is AGENTS.md that can actually reject a merge. He says HVM got reimplemented inside it; the speed claim is "a second, not minutes" because there are no tactics — the agent writes the verbose proofs. The demo's one law ("you can't win") just made the model invent diagonal movement, which is the underspecification argument in a gif.

The issue is I’ll have to vibecode all the laws and the laws could be wrong.
